David Gerstein Original Bowls exhibition at Gerstein Gallery

Original Bowls by David Gerstein and Ido Mazursky

David Gerstein used to paint on ceramic bowls back in the mid 1980s. It was a passion he developed and was happy to produce one of a kind bowls which he hand painted, using various themes, such as flowers, ants, people, cycling and many more. At some point Gerstein started focusing more and more on his 3D metal artworks and the bowls were set aside for a good while. However, in recent years, after establishing himself as a well known sculpture, erecting massive 18 meter tall sculptures, as well as a huge verity of indoor wall sculptures, Gerstein went back to painting and more recently, painting on bowls.

His acquaintance with artist Ido Mazursky, who creates ceramic bowls, has led to this current exhibition just opened at Gerstein Gallery in Tel Aviv.

The exhibition features approximately 40 bowls created by Mazursky and masterfully painted by David Gerstein. The themes are diverse, from nature, animals, to cycling and couples in love. Each bowl is original one of a kind. Here are some photos from the opening:
