David Gerstein has been hard at work in the past year, even though the surge of Covid-19 has changed the working methods, a large outdoor sculpture was able to be made in Taiwan by remote instructions. The sculpture, simply called Tornado, features an array of metal butterflies, mounted to a tornado like structure, slightly tilted to give the feeling of a tornado storm.

The sculpture is situated outside of a new shopping centre in the city of Hsinchu, Taiwan. As mentioned, it was created by instructions from a far by the artist and the result is quite wonderful. Here are some more images of the sculpture at nighttime as well. Hopefully the pandemic will be gone and Gerstein would be able to travel to see his creation up close and personal soon enough.
